In anul 1974 a fost construit troleibuzul Ikarus 260.T1, folosind caroseria unui autobuz diesel si componentele electronice ale unui troleibuz ZIU 5.

Pt. amintirea vremurilor trecute, a fost reconstruit un troleibuz Ikarus 260, la Budapesta (deoarece originalul 600 a fost casat), vopsit in culoarea sa originala, galben.

Al doilea troleibuz Ikarus 260.T2 a ramas la stadiul de prototip. A fost fabricat in anul 1986, folosind componente electronice Ganz. A circulat in Weimar (foto 2, 4) pana in anul 1992 cand a fost adus la Budapesta (foto 1, in probe), unde a fost casat (foto 3).

Tot BKV Budapesta a construit un troleibuz Ikarus 260 folosit pt. depanare (la degivrarea retelei, printre altele). A fost casat.

Troleibuzul ex-Mosgortrans Moscova 7808 a ajuns in orasul georgian Rustavi, unde a fost scurtat.

In Phenian se foloseste la scara larga conversia troleibuzelor din autobuze. Doua fotografii cu un troleibuz Ikarus 260.

Câteva caracteristici ale celor două troleibuze prototip IKARUS 260T.
    Primul, cu denumirea IKARUS 260T.1, construit în anul 1974, a folosit echipamentul electric de serie al troleibuzului sovietic ZiU-5D. Era echipat cu electromotor de tracţiune DINAMO-MOSKOVA, tip DK-207G, având 110 kW, montat la mijloc, sub podea.
      Al doilea, cu denumirea IKARUS 260T.2, construit în anul 1986, a folosit echipamentul electric dezvoltat de GANZ, ce echipa şi troleibuzele articulate IKARUS 280T. Era echipat cu electromotor de tracţiune tip GANZ TK 110K, având 196 kW, montat la mijloc, sub podea.
        Ambele, fiind construite pe baza caroseriei autobuzului IKARUS 260, aveau lungimea 12000 mm, lăţimea 2500 mm, înălţimea caroseriei 3040 mm, înălţimea totală cu echipamente 3400 mm. Ampatamentul era de 5400 mm, consola faţă 2460 mm, consola spate 3140 mm. Înălţimea podelei faţă de sol era de 920 mm.
