Linia 60

Linia este construita intre statiile Varosmajor (legatura cu liniile de tramvai 59 si 61) si Szechenyi-hegy.
Panta maxima: 15%.
Durata unei semi-curse: 18 min la urcare, 16 min la coborare
Viteza maxima: 28km/h
Nr. statii (inclusiv statiile terminus): 10, din care 6 sunt prevazute cu 2 peroane.

Linia isi are originile in anul 1874, cand Nikolaus Riggenbach a dat in folosinta trenul cu aburi cu cremaliera pe dealurile Budei. Prima extindere a liniei la 3,7km a avut loc in 1890 intre Svabhegy si Szechenyi-hegy. Linia a fost transferata companiei municipale de transport public BSzKRt (la acea vreme) in 1926.
3 ani mai tarziu s-a inceput reconstructia, electrificarea si prelungirea liniei. Unele statii au fost prevazute cu doua peroane pentru a permite functionarea simultana a mai multor trenuri, deci scaderea timpilor de succedare. Linia a fost ulterior reconstruita in anul 1973 pentru a marca aniversarea a 100 de ani de la unirea Budei cu Pesta si Obuda (Buda Veche) in Budapesta. Odata cu aceasta reconstruire a fost schimbat si parcul de vehicule dar si voltajul utilizat la alimentarea acestora (de la 600V la 1500V).

Sa aruncam o privire asupra vagoanelor folosite. Acestea au fost produse in 1973 de catre SGP (Simmering Graz Pauker AG) si BBC (Oesterreichische Bown Boveri Werke).
