Poate uneori e mai bine sa construiesti totul de la zero, decat sa renovezi o retea invechita.

In 4 decembrie 2006 au fost desfiintate ultimele linii de tramvai si troleibuz din capitala Georgiei, datorita starii precare a infrastructurii si vehiculelor.

Data punere in functiune: 21 aprilie 1937.

Se doreste reintroducerea transportului electric, modern: http://www.georgiatoday.ge/article_details.php?id=8365

In cazul tramvaiului, se doreste construirea a 15 km linie tramvai, pana in anul 2014, in baza unui agreement cu Systra.

Din pacate, proiectul este umbrit de uciderea, in camera sa de hotel din Tbilisi, a inginerului de la Systra, Stephan Cohen.
