In anii '80 s-a vorbit de introducerea tramvaiului intre cele doua orase din Cehia insa acest proiect a fost abandonat in favoarea troleibuzului.

In 1 septembrie 1995 a fost inaugurat transportul cu troleibuze intre orasele Chomutov (50.900 locuitori) si Jirkov (21.442 locuitori), traseele fiind deservite cu 25 troleibuze Skoda 15Tr. Extinderea retelei a avut loc in anul 1998.

Incepand cu 1.01.2017 Jirkov nu mai plateste subventia pt. transportul cu troleibuze! :evil:

Ba chiar se gandesc sa-si faca propria companie de transport.

Cei din Chomutov doresc mentinerea troleibuzului...

Cei din Jirkov au aprobat ca in urmatorii 10 ani transportul public sa se realizeze de operatorul actual.

Fiind vorba de reducerea contributiei de catre Jirkov, posibil ca troleibuzele interurbane sa ramana. Desigur, sa se aiba in vedere achizitionarea unor troleibuze noi cu cofinantare europeana.
