Din 9 martie 2005 in municipiul Satu Mare circulatia troleibuzelor a fost oprita prin hotarirea Primarului, deoarece "s-a constatat" ca sunt nerentabile.

Au adus citeva Irisbus Citelis. Sa nu-mi spui ca au fost introduse pe rutele troleibuzelor!
In 15 noiembrie 1994 circulau troleibuze intre Gara Mare si Gara Fierastrau iar in iunie 1997 se facea racordul cu Cartierul Horea.
Parcul de troleibuze era compus din 7 vehicule: 3 buc. ROCAR 217 E -aduse in 1994 si 4 buc. ROCAR 212 E -aduse in 1996 si 1997.

Parcul actual de troleibuze este de 4 buc. dintre care 3 ROCAR 212 E si 1 buc. ROCAR 217 E. In momentul actual sunt in consevare.Totusi linia de troleibuz nu este inca demontata, sperindu-se ca dezvoltarea zonelor industriale SUD si VEST va crea fluxul de calatori necesar pentru ca troleibuzele sa fie rentabile.Vom trai si vom vedea!....

Bulevardul Closca, intersectie cu str. Dacia.

Pentru a nu incurca circulatia in intersectia bul. Closca - Drumul Careiului - bul .Vasile Lucaciu- bul. Octavian Goga troleibuzele ce veneau pe Drumul Careiului (dinspre cart. Horea), intrau pe bul. Closca, str. Dacia, bul. Closca, continuindu-si drumul spre Podul Decebal.

Macaz electric bul. Closca - bul. Octavian Goga. Reteaua de troleibuz de pe bul. Octavian Goga a fost inceputa, dar neterminata, o sa detaliez ceva mai incolo.

A se remarca stilpii subtiri ce sustin reteaua electrica.

Hai sa ne reintoarcem la celebra intersectie Drumul Careiului - Bul. O. Goga - Bul. Closca.

Proiectul prevedea introducerea troleibuzelor pe bul. O. Goga - bul. L. Blaga - str. A. Russo - str. Ganea (cart. Menumorut, Carpati II, Carpati I) si bul. O. Goga - bul. Independentei (cart. Gelu - Micro 17).

Astfel, au fost montate macazele si incrucisarile necesare racordarii acestui tronson la reteaua deja existenta.

Am luat cunostinta cu multumire de eforturile Dvs. privind imbunatatirea conditiilor de transport public satmarean. Achizitionarea unor autobuze noi, moderne, sistemul de ticketing implementat, sint pasi hotariti spre racordarea municipiului Satu Mare la sistemele de transport urban existente in tarile membre ale Uniunii Europene.

Normele Uniunii Europene impun municipalitatilor reguli severe de reducere a poluarii urbane fonice si fizico-chimice. Se fac eforturi deosebite pentru mentinerea sau introducerea transportului electric, economic si nepoluant.

Reteaua de troleibuz din municipiul Satu Mare a fost montata respectind in detaliu normele impuse de proiectare. Este o retea aflata in stare buna, desi este la ora actuala in conservare.

Consideram ca finalizarea proiectului de introducere a transportului electric cu troleibuze este necesara si va sta la indemina. Extinderea retelei pe bulevardul Careiului, pt. legarea Parcului Industrial Sud (chiar a Aeroportului) cu cartierele Carpati II, Micro 16, Micro 17, va da valoare economica infrastructurii de troleibuz deja existente. De asemenea, achizitionarea unor troleibuze silentioase si economice (chiar si second-hand), rulind pe bulevarde moderne, rezolvind problema ambuteiajelor si transportind un numar mare de calatori, compune o strategie ce trebuie definitivata si respectata.

Va rugam ca prin efort bugetar local si guvernamental sa continuati proiectul de extindere a transportului cu troleibuzul in municipiul Satu Mare.

Incepind cu data de 10 septembrie 2008 s-au majorat preturile legitimatiilor de calatorie pe mijloacele de transport ale Transurban SA. Un bilet cu o singura calatorie costa 1,8 lei. Printre cele mai mari tarife din tara!

Ca tot veni vorba de operatorul de transport satmarean: troleibuzele au fost casate, luind drumul REMAT-ului. S-a propus si desfiintarea retelei electrice de troleibuz.
