Dupa cum spuneam, la 1 Mai 2009 am executat o excursie pe linia in cauza, impreuna cu Cristi CFR si Gabry_M (ambii din Timisoara). La ora 6:25 este tras la peron automotorul 77-0906-6, ce urma sa plece la 6:34 spre Moldovita ca P5752:

La 7:07 ajungem in Gara Vama, unde se afla si una dintre placile dezvelite de catre Basescu in 1999. Vom sta aici pana la 7:23 (deci vom acumula 14 minute intarziere) in asteptarea trenului P18701 (intarziat) de la Suceava, tren ce aduce calatori si pentru Moldovita. Un lucru interesant l-am remarcat la acestia: la urcarea in micul automotor, toti noii veniti ii salutau pe cei ce deja se aflau acolo. La fel se proceda si la coborare.

Ne continuam drumul. Trecem peste drumul national ce leaga Suceava de Campulung Moldovenesc, apoi pe langa semnalul ce avertizeaza mecanicii trenurilor din sens opus de existenta trecerii la nivel:

Urmatoarea halta este Frumosu. Aceasta se afla chiar in mijlocul satului cu acelasi nume. Am nimerit in zi de targ, astfel ca una dintre mesele comerciantilor se afla la doar cativa centimetri de linie (dar suficient de departe pentru a nu fi acrosata de tren).

Micul automotor se pune din nou in miscare, astfel ca mergem cu toata viteza (cu toata viteza maxima admisa pe sectie, adica 40 km/h) spre urmatoarea statie, Dragosa hcv.:

Ajungem la Dragosa. Aceasta statie se afla exact la mijlocul liniei, permitand astfel ,,crucile" intre trenuri. In prezent, halta nu are semnalizare, iar cladirea a devenit locuinta. De asemenea, macazul ce asigura iesirea spre Valea Stanei a fost desfiintat.

Dupa 3 km ajungem la Valea Stanei h. Aici calatorii pot astepta trenul si in adapostul statiei de maxi-taxi aflata, absolut intamplator, in dreptul haltei C.F.R.

Ajungem si in Vatra Moldovitei. In Comuna Vatra Moldovitei se afla bine-cunoscuta manastire Moldovita.
Halta Vatra Moldovitei este si ea inchisa.

Multa vreme, traficul de marfa (dar si locurile de munca ale localnicilor) a fost asigurat de fabrica de cherestea, aflata vis-a-vis de gara. In urma cu cativa ani, fabrica - spun localnicii - a fost cumparata de catre o firma apartinand lui Omar Hayssam. La scurt timp, fabrica, proaspat asigurata, a luat foc din senin, fiind distrusa aproape complet. Dupa acel incendiu ea a fost inchisa, angajatii fiind trecuti in somaj, iar traficul de marfa fiind desfiintat. Linia ce ducea la fabrica este inchisa, cu sabot de deraiere:
